Don't die from sleep apnea.

Crazy girls,

I'm sorry for the lack of updates. You all know what it's like. You've got school, and work, and ridiculous people asking you to do all sorts of things for them. Mmmm, rude. Throw in trying to make yourself look good and landing yourself a guy, and you barely even have time for any fun, which includes updating this blog.

The other night I walked down to a local homeless shelter with my crazy girls, Steph and Kara, and my crazy boys, Bill and Chris. We met some crazy ass people there. We also met some homeless men and women. Let's just say my crazies and I were not a huge fan of Nebraska Christian College or their ministry majors. I don't know about you, but I feel like no one really needs to reach out to the Vatican. They're doing alright for themselves.

I also went to a former resident's house today, where six twenty somethings who like to drink are sure to make a crazy mess of a very nice house. Their rent is ~200 a month each, too. Anyway, I shouldn't have been there, and I definitely should not have stayed for as long as I did, but it felt like summer to be sitting on the porch while the meat sizzled on the grill, and music trickled through the air. It rained as well, a soft warm misting of water pushed through on a gentle wind. I almost forgot to be worried. I almost forgot that life exists outside of friendships, that there is always work to be done.

Oh, right! The meaning of the title of this post. Girls, there is this crazy cute boy I met at what can simply be called the Midwest queer conference, and we've been texting. He finally added me on Facebook -- sometimes it takes a boy forever to do what you want -- and now that I'm available, the flirting is in full swing. Anyway, he almost always ends a conversation, texting or real life, with some form of depressing parting words. Last time we chatted he told me not to die of sleep apnea. The time before he told me not to die of a meth overdose. I must tell you, I had not considered doing either of those things. The boy is all sorts of odd, which, you might have been able to guess by now, is why I like him.

Peace out , Crazies,
~Pat
